The members of the Alcohol Importers Association joined the Alcohol Producers Association, by giving the organisation representing their interests the name MTÜ Alkoholitootjate ja Maaletoojate Liit (NPO Alcohol Producers and Importers Association). The priorities of the association are the promotion of responsible alcohol consumption, participation in creation and development of the national alcohol policy and standing for the lawful and ethical commercial activities.
“The joining of the alcohol producers and importers into one association is due to the common interests and similar social responsibility of the companies. As all Estonian alcohol producers belonging to the association operate today also as the alcohol importers, it is internally more effective and socially more influential to act in one association,“ Janek Kalvi who was chosen the chairman of the management board of the Alcohol Producers and Importers Association, said.
“All initiatives with right direction and valuable principles are taken over by the new association from the Alcohol Producers Association which develops and expands its socially responsible activities,“ Janek Kalvi, chairman of the management board of the Alcohol Producers and Importers Association, said.
The members of the Alcohol Producers and Importers Association proceed from the restrictions set by self-regulation agreed by the Alcohol Producers Association and Alcohol Importers Association in showing the alcohol commercials. Alcohol producers and importers have established the stricter restrictions for themselves than the ones stipulated by law to avoid the contact of children with the alcohol commercial shown on TV.
The Alcohol Producers and Importers Association chose the management board involving the chairman of the management board Janek Kalvi (AS Liviko), Rein Aksalu (Pernod Ricard Estonia OÜ), Lauri Põldemaa (Prike AS) and Kristel Mets (Altia Eesti AS).
MTÜ Alkoholitootjate ja Maaletoojate Liit (NPO Alcohol Producers and Importers Association) has currently the following members: Altia Eesti AS, Dunkri Kaubanduse AS, Kravond AS, Liviko AS, Pernod Ricard Estonia OÜ, Prike AS, AS Remedia and Tridens AS.
