AS Liviko is set to launch a pair of fizzy new craft drinks: the alcohol-free Re-crafted Crafter’s Junibeer and Gingeroot, which reuse juniper berries and ginger root processed in distillation.
“Here in the company we set ourselves very high standards in terms of both product development and production itself,” said Janek Kalvi, chairman of the management board of AS Liviko. “Thanks to the inventiveness of our craftsmen we’ve come up with a solution that reuses raw ingredients, which is not something you come across very often in the Estonian food industry. And the result, inspired by smart production, is the newest members of the Crafter’s family.”
The juniper-infused, moderately sweet Re-crafted Crafter’s Junibeer is a soft drink with a silky structure and a taste profile with the bittersweet and wooden notes characteristic of the juniper berry. It is made using berries already processed in the distillation of Crafter’s gin.
Re-crafted Crafter’s Gingeroot is also moderately sweet, but with the spicy notes typical of ginger and a warm, mildly peppery aftertaste. It is made using ginger root already processed in distillation.
“We use only the highest-quality natural ingredients to make our Crafter’s gins, and we focus a lot of our attention on selecting and testing those ingredients,” explained Liviko’s beverage architect Hanna Kaur. “These craft soft drinks make use of some unique technology, and they came about because we wanted to get the most out of the valuable ingredients that go into our drinks and create an alcohol-free range with new flavours.”
The alcohol-free Crafter’s drinks contain no artificial flavouring, are both gluten- and lactose-free and are also suitable for vegans.
Due to limited production volumes, Re-crafted Crafter’s Junibeer and Gingeroot will only be available at first in selected cafés and restaurants and from the Liviko Cash & Carry store.
